We had thought about camping at Guadalupe Mountains, but the thought of setting up the tent and stuff in the dark after that hike did not seem terribly appealing. So we headed on north to Roswell, New Mexico. We decided to stay in - get this - a hotel. Jen's mom had told us to stay two nights somewhere in the trip at real live hotels and it was on her, so we decided this was a great point to cash in one of those free passes. As we were getting our giant, dusty duffels out of the car, Jenny said "oh, we have to get the towel out of the car." Then she realized that at real hotels you don't have to bring your own towel! Anyway, after settling in, we hit the whirlpool and sauna!
The next morning we hit the Roswell Public Library to check e-mail and the website. The message board was magically resurrected. Missy's friend Mike suggested perhaps the aliens had something to do with it. He also wondered what will happen to it when we hit Graceland on the way back. Then we went to the obligitory alien gift shops, where gifts were purchased for only the most special (?) friends. Then we went to the big UFO museum, where they have all the newspaper clippings and witness testimony about The Incident in 1947. It was interesting (if it hadn't been free, we might not have said that!).
