Episode 10: Joshua Tree to Fallbrook, CA
From Joshua Tree we drove 3 hours to Fallbrook, California, where Jen's uncle Larry and cousin Heath live. Jen's mom and grandma were also there for a visit en route to Hawaii where Jen's brother lives. We spent 2 days in Fallbrook - trying to catch up on sleep, washing the car, getting some laundry done, and relaxing. Did a little shopping in Fallbrook (about 45 minutes northeast of San Diego). Saturday, Larry took us for a tour of San Diego and Coronado Island. We also drove down the Pacific Coast Highway - saw the beach and some of the seaside towns like Oceanside and La Jolla. Larry runs a custom cabinetmaking business and we stopped at a couple of the swank houses he did some work in. |

Larry also made the molds for the cement countertops in the kitchen as well as the cabinets here in the kitchen and in the rest of the house. |

This four week period also gave Jen the opportunity to try something else she likely won't be able to do once she begins the professional life.... |

The Fallbrook area was very laidback and cool. By the time we left, we both were thinking, much to our surprise, that Southern California might not be a bad place to live someday. Then, we got to LA..... |
