| �Satan, An Arch-Deity and a Transsexual�
Behold, Baphemet! The goat-headed god enthroned upon the earth. A deity, or personification said to be of self creation, a synthesis. With a crown of flame and horns of defiance. With black wings, hoofed legs. With phallic rod of life and breast of maternity. Sitting upon his throne in cross-legged form. Two fingers up are the right to the white moon, two down are the left to the black moon�the hands of sanctity and labor. What does this signify? Many things to many people, all ascribed to the direction of the pentagram. Yes, that ancient five-pointed star. But one must keep in mind the origin of the star and recognize the inversions of whence it came. Prior to the creation of the �Cabala� (Judaic mysticism) the star in its original format was in the descending (one point down, two points up) and was the Sumerian symbol of the goat, as was with many other ancient kingdoms. The goat was also symbolic of flesh and sin. Hence, �scapegoat� as in ancient Sumer. Two goats were sacrificed to cleanse the people of sin by placing the will upon the head of the goat. One was slaughtered to a purified deity, and the other driven into the desert where the sin would be expiated into the �unknown� with the death of the dying host. But what was �sin�? Ancient Sumer, the moon god (male deity) was called �sin� and all acts of the flesh in the forbidden realm of indulgence were during his rule�at night. There are many other factors which apply to this theology, however. Not only do I not have the allotted space within these pages to teach, but this is not the purpose of this article. And while many conflicts can arise from the �war of the pentagram,� of who is right, older or who Baphomet is or isn�t, who the pentagram does belong to or not; I will only touch on a few historical factors to clarify this adversity for those unbeknownst. It is not my own interpretation, or intention to provoke others� inversions or way of belief, of desecration of true intent or to convert. Merely to set a foundation of understanding as to one path�Satanism. It is common practice in these �modern� times for people to willingly accept �teachings� of the occult, witchcraft, and a string of other set thought. Such �teachings� may be manipulations of the truth. Believers often follow blindly instead of doing their own study of history or religion as well as a string of other resources. It is my wish that this small glimpse of another �point� will be enough to provoke one to take matters into their own hands and learn for themselves what matters to them! Consider this. While the pentagram was originally a symbol of the flesh and indulgence by the goat, it wasn�t until the Middle Ages with the reinvention of the �Cabala� that it was it turned into an �up-right� or �ascending� star with an enlightened philosophy applied to it. This was called �astral light,� or the �savior,� as it reflected the opposition to the �descending� pentagram of flesh. In other words, it projected spirit over the much-maligned flesh. Seeing as Cabala is a magic fueled philosophy of Judaic Christianity, it�s a great wonder as to why modern �Wicca� will use this symbol. They claim no recognition of such beliefs. Yet again, why do they (Wiccans) call themselves witches when the word �witch� is a title given to one who traffics with �The Devil� (a being they claim not to recognize) by the Church, from which they claim to emancipate themselves. It can be quite difficult to reestablish a path or teaching which has been either whitewashed or covered entirely by a new set-thought. Especially since it was a common practice by the Church to rid society of �pagan� practices. However, it cannot be denied that Baphomet is the very deity the �Knights Templar� were persecuted for worshipping as a personification of Satan. And the forethought of this undoing was to convert a �negative� into a �positive� image, to be accepted by either those who will not accept or couldn�t care less anyway. Therefore, the feared woman of Craft, in old abandoned homes and caves with curses and devil�s lust, is now the innocent young woman who teaches kindergarteners and pays homage to the season�s high points. And in all reality, which one is or isn�t truly a witch, both? It wasn�t until the 1800s that L�vi Elephas combined the two images. He brought together �witch� and �Cabala� into a new idealism, portrayed by his own artistic imagination called �Baphomet.� Here we have a focal point of inversion, conversion and blend. A blend of Baphomet (Satan) with �Cabala� beliefs, a conversion of Satan into �astral light� which L�vi calls �Lucifer,� all ascribed to the �inversion� of the Cabalistic use of the pentagram. While admitting that Baphomet is the �Sabbatic Goat� and representing the Dark Lord of sin, Satan; L�vi states �this image can not be confounded to the blasphemous Satan due to the placement ascribed to the ascending pentagram. Hence, Baphomet becomes the symbol of the astral light, Lucifer.� (not verbatim) While acknowledging his intentional conversion and calling it the �Great Horned God of the Witches,� at no time in history has the ascending pentagram been associated with witchcraft, or the goat. Hence, it is now clear to the falsities and misuse of combining this into one. It is now also clear to understand the philosophy which now follows; and in doing so I will also translate other historical facts to make clear other relevant claims here within. Coinciding with occult philosophy, which cannot be inverted, at the creation of Cabalistic inversion ascribed to the ascending pentagram, a philosophy of the four elements and spirit was assigned to correspond to the five points. The spirit being the top most point, referring to intelligence over matter. With Satanism, flesh being the objective, the four elements prevail over the spirit, signifying the goat as a deity for the here and now philosophy�. Hence, indulgence, over abstinence. I have taken the L�vi Elephas Baphomet image and restored it�without any other influence of either �Cabala� nor other influential thought other than a religion of pure flesh and indulgence�to Satanism. It must be understood that any religion away from a spiritual or light based thought set is regarded as �sinful� or �evil� by any and all other paths. Be it called sin, evil or negative. By Christian, Judaic or even �pagan.� Whether they recon with the names ascribed to it or not is irrelevant. As an only religion of flesh, Satanism falls into their category of evil. Consider that it also condones both the creative and destructive aspects of magic, by the confines of the Elemental Deities, it appears as an inversion of their �good.� If evil is what it�s called then evil I am. In Satanism, the pentagram is never turned to correspond with the intention of the magic employed. For all is within the sign of Baphomet, and Baphomet represents it all, man, woman, beast, magic of destruction, of curses, of creation, of blessings. It is of fire, air, earth and water. It is of life and death. And if one must find one�s origin to �believe� in these ways, or in the names, such as Satan, one must refrain from stigma applied to a name or belief and learn for themselves the natural law of the continuum called life. And to understand life is, like death, a natural adversity and opposition. To the Christians, Satan is the devil. To the Jews, Satan is the misconduct messenger. To the Muslims, a deceiver. And to the Sumerian he was the original Creator from the Absu (Abyss). He was to them Kutulu. To the Greeks, Hades. To Romans/Greek, Pan. And the list goes on. But now I no longer use the cross reference to the use of Baphoment or pentagram or Satan other than what it is considered here. As Satanism is a religion of the flesh and of indulgence it is also of the self. For that very reason, therefore, I have taken and not only restored Baphoment, but also flipped the image completely over to correspond to the use at the altar and made his image, like a mirror, an image of the self, man, woman and beast made up of the four elements. �May the Baphomet�s left hand be our right, and our might.� I will not go into detail �how to� with Satanism. I leave that up to those who seek for themselves. Those who know of it now will also see differences to other teachings as well as similarities of such works as Anton LaVey, �In Naomi.� Again, I will not distinct these differences. In Satanism there are four major deities. They are: Satan � king, fire, south. Lucifer � prince, air, east. Belial � queen, earth, north. Leviathan � princess, water, west. These are known as the four crowns of hell. Much can be learned by the conclusion of these four crowns. They are impersonal and are the sole existence of life itself. If one and just one of them was abstracted, life as we know it could not exist. The alter faces south for the religion is �Satanism.� The only two candles upon the altar are black. These are to the left of the altar, used for the works of blessings or creative, gaining. The other is white, right of the altar, and is used strictly for destruction and curses. Two fingers up to the Crescent moon of white, to cast out to solve. For white is the absence of color, absence is �without,� destruction. Two fingers down to the crescent moon of black, to gather, coagula, for black is the presence of all color, indulgence. These four crowns are called forth in there proper order, counterclockwise. A proper invocation is made for the reason to cast your working. Then the proper candle is used in correspondence to that working. I now wish to connect the dots, as I�m sure many are asking, �What does this have to do with transsexualism?� Simply this; just like the four crowns and Baphomet itself, I myself am highly misunderstood as well as inverted from what was originally insistent. They too look at me as a devil (she-devil no less). The infliction and stigma apply to me just the same, calling me �gender dysphoric.� Since they regard my inverted flesh as a negative, they claim I am �suffering� from what I have no trouble indulging. The only thing I �suffer� from is the constant bombardment of outside authorities claiming I have something �wrong� with me. Now who is being the �accuser�? Just like the devil himself being blamed for man�s or society�s set thought of what is correct. That I am a deceiver to cover my birth gender, and while I am a trans, male to female sexualist, I am an indulger of life. I am man, woman, and beast; phallic, breast, and made by the four crowns. For if just one was abstracted, I could not exist. I am of creation, of destruction, and in accordance I hate just as I love. I am flesh and spirit, I live and I will die. And this path is my sanctuary. It does not condemn me for who or what I am. It teaches me to indulge and embrace it. As a religion of the flesh, upon my altar I look at Baphomet and I see it all. I see�myself! We Satanists have but one law��Do what thou wilt, shall be the whole of the law.� So I say to you, look unto Baphomet with open eyes and tell me who do you see? And if you see yourself, then tell me, are you evil�or just misunderstood?
