[September 15, 1963] in Bryn Mawr Hospital. He was 55 and lived
at 730 Sproul Road, Bryn Mawr. Mr. Call, formerly from Brookline, was a
member of the Union Methodist Church, Havertown; Havertown Lions Club;
Masons; Pennsylvania Society of Professional Engineers, and American Heating,
Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning Engineers. Surviving are his wife, the
former Marjorie Reese; a daughter, Sally, and his mother, Mrs. Lena Erb

Marjorie G. Call, 87, a long time resident
of the Dunwoody Village retirement community in Newtown Square, died Friday
at her home there. Mrs. Call, a nurse, was born in Sharon, Pa., but spent
her childhood in Hazleton, Pa. She moved to the Philadelphia area after
graduating from high school, and attended the Philadelphia General Hospital
School of Nursing. She later taught at the school. A member of the Drexel
Hill United Methodist Church, Mrs. Call loved to play bridge. She was the
wife of the late Joseph Call. Survivors: a daughter, Sally Maurer, a son-in-law

Marjorie G. Call of Dunwoody Village
died April 22. Before moving to Dunwoody, she had lived in Havertown, Radnor,
and Wynnewood for nearly 60 years. Born in Sharon, she was the daughter
of Margaret (Hood) and John [sic, should be Amos] Reese. She was
raised in Hazleton and moved to the Philadelphia area after graduating
from high school. She graduated from the Philadelphia General Hospital
School of Nursing and later taught there. She was a member of Drexel Hill
United Methodist Church. She enjoyed playing bridge. The widow of the late
Joseph Call, she is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Sally and
Christopher Maurer; and two grandchildren, Jennifer and Jason Maurer. Services

Mrs. Olive Gladys Peguesse, 76, 1907
Harvard Ave., Bayshore Gardens, died Sunday [October 21, 1973] at
Manatee Memorial Hospital. Born in Hazleton, Pa., she moved to this area
16 years ago from Emmaus, Pa. She was past president of the Emmaus Graden
Club, past president of Manatee and Bayshore Gardens Republican Club, a
member of Emmaus Women's Club, and State Committee Woman of the Republican
Club. She attended the Evangelical Church. She leaves her husband, George
P. Peguesse; a son, George W. Peguesse of Lancaster, Cal.; two daughters,
Mrs. Naomi Joos of Jacksonville and Mrs. Dorothy J. Huftill of Dinsmore;
a brother, LeRoy Volke of Elmonte, Cal.; a sister, Miss Uldene Volke of
Bradenton; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Friends may
call this afternoon and evening at Griffith-Cline Cortez Road Chapel. The
Rev. Ralph E. Robrahn will conduct a service at 10 A.M. at Griffith-Cline

REESE, Amos Parker.

Amos P. Reese, aged 59, who was stricken
with a heart attack October 10 while on a bus coming from Allentown to
Hazleton, died at 6:15 a.m. yesterday [October 30, 1942] at the
Coaldale Hospital, where he had since been a patient. He was born in Hazleton
and educated in the local schools. For over 30 years he was the manager
of the Furniture Department of the Sasso Department Store, and when that
firm went out of business, he took a similar post with the Zollinger and
Harned Department Store at Allentown. He was a member of Zion's E.C. church,
Hazle Lodge No. 327, F. & A. M.; Hazleton Chapter No. 277, Royal Arch
Masons; Mount Vernon Commandery, No. 73, Knight Templar of this city, and
of Irem Temple at Wilkes-Barre. He is survived by his wife, formerly Miss
Margaret Hood, native of Pittsburgh, and three daughters: Mrs. Joseph Call,
of Brookline Park, Philadelphia; Mrs. E.A. Hulit, of Lambertsville, N.J.;
and Miss Dorothy Reese, at home. Also surviving are a brother, Benjamin
Reese of Sparrows Point, MD; a sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Volke of Easton;
two step-brothers, William and Harry Krapf of West Hazleton; two step-sisters,
Ida Krapf of West Hazleton; and Mrs. Edward Brill of Philadelphia; and
three grandchildren. The funeral will be held Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock
with services at the family residence in charge of Rev. Dr. W. H. Russell,
pastor of St. John's P. M. church. The place of burial will be announced

Amos P. Reese, 43 W. Seventh St., who
died at the Coaldale Hospital last Friday, was buried yesterday [November
1, 1942] afternoon with services in charge of Rev. Dr. W. H. Russell,
pastor of St. John's P.M. church. Interment was in the Vine Street Cemetery
with members of Hazle Lodge, No. 327, F. and A.M. conducting the Masonic
ritual at the grave. Pallbearers, all members of Hazle Lodge, were: Alexander
S. Saul, Henry L. Knies, Frank E. Miller, George W. Kline, William J. Schwartz,

REESE, Anna M.

Mrs. Anna M. (Krapf) Reese, aged 86
years, died yesterday [December 11, 1937] at 9 a.m. at her home
at 102 North Broad Street, West Hazleton, after a long illness due to ailments
incidental to her advanced years. She was one of West Hazleton's pioneer
residents and her maiden name was Miss Anna Martha Grebey. Mrs. Reese was
brought to this city as a baby a few weeks old, her parents locating first
at Cranberry. She was the last of the original family, one of her brothers
being the late Casper Grebey of Hazleton, veteran Valley railroad engineer
and for years a city police officer. Mrs. Reese was married twice, first
to the late John Krapf. He died in 1893. Later she became the wife of Benjamin
Reese, West Hazleton community leader and councilman who passed away in
1918. Mrs. Reese was a member of the First Presbyterian church of this
city. She is survived by the following children: William Krapf, George
F. Krapf, Miss Ida Krapf, all of West Hazleton; Mrs. Edward Brill, of Philadelphia;
Amos Reese of Hazleton; Harry at home, and Benjamin Reese of Baltimore,
MD. Seventeen grandchildren and eight great grandchildren also survive.
The funeral will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. and will be private. Services
will be held at the home and interment will follow in Mountain View Cemetery.

The funeral of Mrs. Anna M. (Krapf)
Reese of West Hazleton, who died Monday, was held privately yesterday.
Serviced were conducted at the house by Rev. Fiore D'Isidoro of the Italian
Presbyterian church and interment was in the Mt. View cemetery. Pallbearers
were members of the Luzerne County Funeral Directors' Association. The
pallbearers were: Michael Ferrari, Charles Pitzpatrick, Charles Flynn,
Charles Doron, Hugh V. Hughes and Stanley Grontkowski. (Unidentified

October 29, 1918. Funeral private Friday at 2 p.m. Interment in Mountain
View Cemetery. Please omit flowers. Benjamin Reese, aged 68, treasurer
of the borough of West Hazleton and former Councilman, died at 10:36 this
morning from complications. He came to Hazleton from Pottsville from where
he moved to West Hazleton twenty-five years ago. He was a mine foreman
years ago for the late Ario Pardee at Hazleton No. 1 and was engaged in
the same capacity with the Cranberry Creek Coal Co. when he was stricken
ill. He was a member of the Presbyterian church and the Red Men of this
city. He is survived by his wife [second wife, Anna Reese] and the
following children: Mrs. Phillip Schwartz of Pottsville; Benjamin Jr. of
Cape Charles, VA; Mrs. Otto Volke, Everett, Ohio; Mrs. Joseph McCracken
of Philadelphia and Amos Reese of Hazleton. The following step-children
survive: Mrs. Edward Brill, of Philadelphia; William, George, Harry and
Ida Krapf, of West Hazleton. One brother, John Reese, of West Hazleton,

Benjamin Reese, who moved from West
Hazleton some 40 years ago, died following a three year illness at his
home, 3119 Grace Road, Baltimore, MD. He was 76. Mr. Reese is survived
locally by Mrs. Amos Reese, a sister-in-law. Other survivors include a
step-brother and step-sister, Miss Ida Krapf and Harry Krapf, of Bethlehem,
and a sister in Easton. [Elizabeth Reese Volke] In Baltimore, the deceased
is survived by his wife, son and daughter. The funeral will be held tomorrow

Mrs. Margaret H. Reese, formerly of
437 W. Broad St., died at 5:15 a.m. Friday [August 9, 1969] at the
Masonic Home, Elizabethtown, where she had been a guest several years.
Born in Pittsburgh, April 20, 1882, a daughter of the late Harry and Margaret
Hood, she had resided in this city most of her life. While in Hazleton,
she was a member of Zion Evangelical Congregational Church. She was a member
and past matron of Mayflower Chapter 107, O.E.S.; member and past high
priestess of Hazleton White Shrine No. 4; and past president of the Ladies
Auxilary of Mount Vernon Commandery. Her husband, Amos P. Reese, died Oct.
30, 1942. Surviving are two daughters: Mrs. Joseph (Marjorie) Call, Wynnewood;
and Mrs. E.A. (Lila) Hulit, Lambertsville, N.J.; three grandchildren and
five great-grandchildren. The funeral will be held Monday at 11 a.m. from
the Krapf and Hughes Funeral Home, with the Rev. Benjamin Hess, pastor
of Zion Evangelical Congregational Church, officiating. Burial will be

o'clock Mrs. Benjamin Reese of West Hazleton passed on to the great beyond,
having lingered for 3 weeks with typhoid fever. A husband and 6 children

removed to their final resting place in Vine Street Cemetery. The pallbearers

John C. Rimbach, a former resident of
Jeanesville and this city, died in Pittsburg on Thursday evening [clipping
dated May 13, 1905] after a prolonged illness. He was a member of the
old Jeanesville Band, [word obscured] Council, Independent Order
of Americans, and the West Hazleton Fire Co. He is survived by his wife
and three children. Mrs. Rimbach is a daughter of Benjamin Reese of West
Hazleton. The remains will arrive here at [word obscured] o'clock
this evening. The funeral will take place from the home of John Scott,
Union Hall, at 1:30 o'clock Monday afternoon. Interment will be made in

Mrs. Elizabeth Ann Reese Volke, 76,
wife of Otto Volke, died today [November 8, 1952] at 2:10 AM at
her home, 675 Washington Street (Easton, PA). Mrs. Volke was
born Jan. 7, 1876, at Hazelton, a daughter of the late Benjamin and Sarah
Jane Wildman Reese. She was a member of First Church of the Nazarene.
Her health had been failing for 10 years, and she had been an invalid for
the last five years. Surviving, in addition to her husband, are two
daughters, Mrs. George (Olive Gladys) Peguesse, of Emmaus, and Miss Uldene
Florence Volke, of Crownsville, MD; two sons, Dr. John Rimbach, (DDS) of
Easton, and Leroy Volke, of Los Angeles; a brother, Benjamin Reese, of
Edgemere, MD; three grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
WEIKEL, Cora Ella

Mrs. Cora Ella Weikel, 80, Shamokin
R.D. 1, east of Gowen City, died this morning [July 23, 1957] in
Shamokin Hospital. Mrs. Weikel, who was ill for two years, fell last Friday
and had been a patient in the hospital since last Saturday. A daughter
of the late Henry and Elizabeth (Haas) Dunkelberger, the last Shamokin
R.D. woman was born December 7, 1876, in Hepler. She was married to Ellsworth
Weikel November 11, 1894, in the parsonage of Line Mountain Church. Mr.
Weikel died four years ago. Mrs. Weikel was a member of Gowen City Reformed
Church, the Willing Workers Quilting Club, and the Sunday school of that
congregation. Survivors include six sons, Lester, Philadelphia; Stanley,
Shamokin; Elwood and Orville, Gowen City; Guy, North Canton, Ohio; and
Glenn, Washington, D.C.; two daughters, Mrs. Stanley Latsha, Shamokin R.D.
1, with whom Mrs. Weikel made her home since the death of her husband,
and Mrs. Frank Fertig, Northumberland; two sisters, Mrs. Leon Maurer and
Mrs. Maude Yost, Philadelphia; 27 grandchildren and 37 great-grandchildren.
Two sons, Major Paul W. Weikel, and Harvey Weikel, met death in accidents.
The former was killed in an airplane crash January 16, 1953, and the latter
son met death in a mine accident at Locust Gap Colliery in 1941. (Shamokin
