Some interesting Pointers:

The story deals with some issues raised in Starwars Episode 2, that is the Jedi themselves becoming "Undemocratic". (discussed by Micheal Wong in his site http://www.stardestroyer.net/AOTC/Revelations-1.html . Their "Jedi by right of birth" attitude is plunging the jedi back to the same sort of position displayed immediatley before the Clone Wars Pre Empire. this is what had turned Jamie Loxley to the dark side, her rejection from the Jedi Order, due to her being illigitimate and descended from the religious Veninian group.
Jedi Order are again becoming Isolationist, not allowing marriage, and showing signs of power politics within the ranks and possible corruption. The Marriage forbiding is what caused Jenat-Lai to break from the order and although accepting of the ruling that he should choose between either marrige or the Order, Jenat-Lai also wished the Order would somehow realise what it was there for... the protection of the Republic and it's Ideals, and not for some mystic searching for the Force. He however saw the problem too big for him to do anything about, and so left the Order quietly, wishing in his heart though that the Jedi would see the way that they were repeating history and change their ways. Jamie Loxley aka Darthia Conquest, the new Sith Master without an apprentice at this time seeks to exact revenge on the Jedi for both their lean and indicicive dealings with the Veninian crisis and for their self-richeous outlook on morality. She seeks to form a bond with one of the other disgruntled few who have been split from the Jedi Order for breaking the Jedi Code in one way or another, Amongst these ex-jedi the Sith Mistress intends to join with is the ex-Jedi Knight, Jenat-Lai Ovarn.

Jenat-Lai, content to lead a quiet life on Veninia however is thrust, by the turmoil of the galaxy itself, into an adventure, and comes to a place where he must choose to stand up against the injusticies and make a difference, or be counted amongst the casualties of war.

The story deals with power of one, and the responsibility that that power comes with. It deals about morality and it deals with the dangers of pride and arrogance.
