It should be noted that fanfictions involving plot devices of rape, child abuse, anorexica, depression, and the like should not be inflicted upon these nice people. You can send them to Jen if you think you want to write a serious, medically correct fiction dealing with these issues with the concern they deserve, but she reserves the right to rip into them without mercy.
Also note that the purpose of a beta-reader is not to give you praise. If you can't cope with criticism, then this is not the place for you. If you want to improve and are able to admit to yourself that every story needs editing, then continue on down. Don't say we didn't warn you...

Bookwyrm - Can help with LOTR or the Hobbit. Nothing over PG-13, and she'd prefer not to beta soppy romances. You can find her on AIM as SomeSortofLizard.
Cainell - Will beta LOTR or Hobbit-based fics, but will not deal with MPreg. (Frankly, we don't blame her). She'd also rather not beta novel-length fics - she's better at dealing with short stories and vignettes.
Claudia - Will beta anything, as long as its not graphic or PWP. Can help with Sindarin and Quenya, and is particularly good with spelling, grammar, and canon issues. Comes with a personal Jen Littlebottom recommendation (Hi Claudia!). Is also on AIM - AkashaReincarnat
Em - Will do LOTR or The Hobbit, as long as it's not NC-17. She speaks French and some Spanish, in case that's any help to somebody.
Helloise - Will beta any. A smart girl, she speaks *deep breath* French, German, Latin, Old French, Medieval Latin, Middle English and Old English (Or should that be Olde English?). She's also your girl if you need some help with Medieval culture 'n stuff.
Jen Littlebottom - Will beta anything, although being a nerd she prefers Silmarillion stuff. She has first dibs on anything involving Finrod. (Heh.) She also loves inventing names, in case you hadn't guessed from the novella-length essay on this site. Is occasionally to be found on MSN, under [email protected]
Kai - Will beta anything, as long as it isn't explicit. Likes humour fics and vignette-type stuff.
Kerosene - Will do anything but MPreg. Best on the Trilogy, although you're welcome to send her other stuff.
Laurel, also known as TZA, decided to give Jen two names just to be difficult. She's working on the Trilogy, so for the moment she's only betaing for FOTR, (no slash, no NC-17), but she'll also do original fiction.
Mebrireth - Will beta anything, apparently. Brave girl. She speaks a bit of Spanish, too. Find her on AIM as SereneDream22
Meir Brin - Will do anything that's not slash, and that has a rating of PG-13 or less. Speaks a bit of Quenya and French, and is thus obviously a class act. (More so then Jen, at least, although that's not saying much...)
Nathonea - PG-13 or less, no slash, trilogy-based fanfictions. Will help with de-suing OC's. Available on AIM as Nathonea.
Nath - Has more Tolkien books then Jen does. She prefers strongly canonical stories, well thought out AU's, and the like, and will not do PWP's, slash for the sake of slash, angst for the sake of angst, soppy romance, poetry or the Fellowship in High School. OjosVerdes - Will beta anything under PG-13, non-slash, especially LOTR-based stories. Would particularly like to help you out with your Maedhros fiction. Problems with your dialogue? Apply here!
RandomElf - For your LOTR and Silmarillion betaing needs. No NC-17, though. She can help a bit with the Elvish, or at least tell if you're dipping into the Grey Company Phrasebook.
Thalia Weaver - Will do LOTR fics. Has a soft spot for short, angsty, pieces, so you might want to send those her way. She also speaks Hebrew. Is on AIM as tinuviel8994, and MSN as [email protected]
