Mom and Dad were suppose to be invincible.
I can still remember the funeral like it was yesterday. It had rained the night before, so that morning the ground was still wet from the rain. Like God had been crying with me.
The wind made the trees sway; birds sang in the distance. Everyone stood there so silent, so still.
I hated God.
I wanted my mother back.
Though I waited all day, Mommy never came back.
Things changed after that.
My father and I stopped talking, we became strangers. I guess I reminded him too much of her.
Kevin came by less after that, until one day he stopped coming over at all.
