Rouge River and Illinois River Photo Gallery

The Rouge River is considered to be one of the best places for fly fishing and white water rafting. It was featured in the movie The River Wild.

This is where the Rouge River enters the Rouge River Gorge near Union Creek, Oregon which is just southwest of Crater Lake.

This is a picture of the Rouge River Gorge which is the narrowest part of the Rogue. For a really cool panoramic photo of this area, click here.

This was take in October 1999 when the river was really low. I can't imagine how fast it goes in the winter and spring.

This is Hells Gate Canyon and the Rouge River. This area is way southwest of the above photos of the gorge, and it is west of the town of Grants Pass on I5. Jet boat tours out of Grants Pass go through this canyon.

This is also Hells Gate Canyon. These two pictures were taken in February 2000. This area is pretty far out into the coast range, and the road begins to get really crappy just past here.

This is the Illinois River. This picture was taken near the town of Cave Junction on December 11th, 1999; it has rained a lot this month, but the river is still very low. I love how it is flowing in seperate channels. Only three channels are shown here, but there are several more.

This was taken on the other side of the road from the one above. Oregon Caves National Monument is about 20 miles behind the hills.
