Strawberry Mountains Photo Gallery
The Strawberry Mountains are in eastern Oregon between Prairie City and John Day. These pictures were taken April 14, 2001. I saturated these photos a bit because the sky was hazy due to the dust in the air from the Chinese dust storm.
This was taken just outside of Prairie City. The tallest mountain is Strawberry Mountain (9038 feet). These cows were kind of irritated that I invaded their space.
In April, there should be much more snow in the mountains that there was when I was there; we had a super dry winter.
Elk, antelope, black bears, big horn sheep, and cougars live in these mountains.
I drove a bit east of Prairie City and then drove back towards it; that is when I noticed this view of Strawberry Mountain.
