Willamette Valley Photo Gallery #2

These are pictures from my February 2000 visit to Silver Falls State Park near Salem. The first Silver Falls Photo Gallery has links to some photos not on this page so you can compare late fall and mid winter photos of the falls.

This is South Falls (177 feet). The trail goes behind the falls and you get quite wet from all of the mist and dripping water. It is hard to understand the size of the waterfall in the picture so my brother is the white figure standing about an inch to the left of the falls.

This is Lower South Falls (93 feet). This is another one of the falls that you can walk behind. Both this and South Falls are on the south fork of Silver Creek; the other 8 falls are on the north fork.

This is South Fork Silver Creek with South Falls in the background.

This is the bottom of Middle North Falls.

This is North Falls which is 136 feet high.

This is Lower North Falls (30 feet).

This is Double Falls the tallest falls in the park at 178 feet. The second tier is somewhat hidden by the tree branch.

This is Drake Falls (27 feet) which is really more of a steep rapid than a falls.
