Portland Photo Gallery
Portland is a great city. There are tons of parks and a great view of Mt Hood. There are two rivers running through the city limits and it is very hilly and forested.
This is a view of the west side of downtown Portland which is where most of the tall buildings are. The river is the Willamette (wil-AM-uht not wil-LA-met). Beyond the tall buildings are the west hills which is where the next couple of pictures were taken from.
Here is a picture of the area just north of the downtown.
Portland has a population of approximatly 459,900 people. The entire metro area population is 1.7 million. It is a very clean environmentally friendly city. This picture is a view just to the right of the one above.
This photo is a view just to the right of the one above. If it was a clearer day, Mt. Hood (11,239 feet) would be towering over the skyline right in the center of this photo.
This is a picture of the sunset over downtown Portland from the east side of the Willamette River. There was a Labor Day festival going on at River Front Park on the other side of the river.
This is a view of Mt St. Helens (now 8,366 feet high) in Washington from a viewpoint on highway 30 west of Portland on the Columbia River Gorge. Mt Adams (12,276 feet) is the sharp peak to the right.
