Crater Lake Photo Gallery #2

Even though it is a busy tourist attraction, anyone who plans to visit Oregon should go to Crater Lake. Although these are great pictures, they don't capture the feeling of actually being there. This lake is amazing!

Here is Wizard Island again. This shows a good view of the beach at the lake rim. I love all of the colors in the shallow water.

This is a waterfall along the rim road at Crater Lake.

This is a southern view from Crater Lake's rim road. The area in the far back on the right side is the sky lake wilderness. If you look closely between the peaks in the center of the picture and the peaks on the right side of the photo, you may be able to see what appears like a lake in the sky at the level of the top of the center peaks. It is pretty cool in real life. As you can tell by the brown grass, it has barely rained since I moved here (Early Oct. 1999).

These are the Pinnacles at Crater Lake. They are lava formations left over from the eruption of Mt Mazama. What is really weird is that most of them are hollow.
