I finally got the iron bed I have been dreaming of for years! I am so in love with it, and it's amazing what a difference it makes in the room.
My room is starting to look a bit crowded! But actually that's how I like it; makes it cozier. I love the shabby chic, romantic feel of this room.
I really love having a loveseat in my bedroom too. It's a nice place to read if I don't want to be in bed, and it's also a great catchall for the throw pillows when I sleep.
I found this cute little old dresser at an antique shop and got it for only sixty bucks! It's stenciled with fleur-de-lis.
This is another piece my grandmother gave me that I'm in love with. It used to reside in my mom and aunt's attic bedroom when they were kids. My grandfather built it for them and painted it a great, mixed pink color they called...well, I won't tell you what they named it, but it's prettier to me than they thought it was...
Here's the master bath, obviously. Normally toilets don't make for the best picture subjects, but I decorated it like any other piece of furniture to take the edge off its starkness.
I've now added another sweet cabinet to my collection :) - yes, it's from my grandma. The next picture shows it closeup.
This little cabinet was originally two apple crates that someone nailed together - doors and knobs were added, and light blue-green paint was applied, and then it made the perfect place for storage for my aunt and mom when they were children. My aunt cut out the leaf shapes from magazine paper.
Closeup view of the rug in my room. I bought it a few years ago from Lowe's.
Here is what my room looked like before I got the iron bed.
I hung this tablecloth as a temporary shade until I can figure out how I want to finalize the treatment for this window.
I think it's perfectly fine to mix faux florals and real ones together. I prefer real flowers, of course, because there's just nothing like them. But today's fauxs are very real looking and they never wilt.
