I finally decided to warm up the living room for winter with a new paint color - a soft, warm gold. Some new items with touches of red also help warm up the space and add some pizzazz - a rug, silk drapes, a blanket, throw pillows, etc. Paint and textiles really are the cheapest and easiest ways to make over a room. I think the room is warmer and more welcoming than ever before, and I love the new "den" feel.

A new coffee table in a warm wood adds to the cozy feeling I was after for the room. I'll probably never get rid of the little yellow wicker table and will give it a new home in another room, but this table is much better suited for this room.

Speaking of my little critters...

A new side table as well since the black nightstand with painted flowers on it doesn't really go in here anymore. It'll get a new home in another room someday too.
