Price Guide to: UK Vinyl Singles

Having released nearly 30 singles in their career, Maiden have never failed to give the fan value for money on the collecting front. However this can also lead to major headaches trying to pin down all the various formats a single was released in.

From day one Maiden where a step ahead of other bands in issuing more than one format of a single to give the fans something a bit more special. So even away back in 1981 the band had released three colours of a single, which hardly made a dent in the charts but to this day still commands a healthy market price.

Of course the advent of Compact Disc has almost replaced the need for vinyl singles but which format is always the first to go when the band release a new song? Yeah, you guessed the old vinyl record and even though Maiden presses the odd vinyl 7 now and again they are still very much prized by the fans.

The list will be the record and the current market price and nothing else. This is just meant to be a quick reference guide and only includes the rare and harder to get vinyls from Maiden's career.
The list only includes officially released material.

1. The Soundhouse Tapes (original pressing) - £400
2. Running Free (1980) - £18 - £35
3. Sanctuary uncensored sleeve - £35 - £40
4. Sanctuary censored sleeve - £18 - £35
5. Woman In Uniform - £15 - £20
6. Twilight Zone red vinyl - £30 - £40
7. Twilight Zone clear vinyl - £30 - £40
8. Purgatory - £30 - £40
9. The Number of the Beast black vinyl - £10 - £20 far harder to get than the VERY common red vinyl issue
10. Run to the Hills (live 1985) with Xmas card - £12 - £20

Notes: -

The vinyl singles released in the late1980's and early 1990's are all still fairly easy to get so prices are rather low but expect to pay around the £5- £8 for the majority of them. Since Maiden chart very high in the UK Charts it is no surprise that there is a healthy amount of old singles still doing the rounds and in very good condition.
Some pressings like Fear of the Dark poster bag and Hallowed Be Thy Name red vinyl although issued in supposed limited amounts are also fairly easy to pick up for around the £10 - £15. This goes for other non-standard single issues.
Of course it is easy for us fans in the UK to say this but overseas fans will have to take into account postage and packaging, which will add to the cost.
