If money is not the object then this is the Maiden record for you. As we move into a new century the passion for collecting Maiden records is showing no signs of letting up. In fact it seems to be increasing!

This can be seen in the money being changed hands for this ridiculously rare South American pressing.

Maiden are not normally noted for releasing different sleeves for the same record. However our South American friends in Venezuela where treated to a radically different picture sleeve to the rest of the world away back in 1981.
The original sleeve known to us outside of Venezuela is Eddie wielding a Samurai Sword. Available quite readily including the Japanese Heavy Metal Album pressing and at an affordable price.

But it was decided to alter the sleeve for Venezuela. This was done because Paul D'ianno had decided to leave the band. Or was he pushed? Nonetheless this sleeve has now gone down in Maiden history as being a cracker.
Copies, never mind mint copies, are extremely difficult to get a hold of. So if you are giving the chance please grab a hold of it. You will not be disappointed.

Actually, this is one record that escapes my collection and will continue to do so becuase of the price!
This particular vinyl is going for around the £300/$420 mark.
