We all know that Maiden have a soft spot for the Japanese fans and this is reflected in the excellent First Ten Years CD box set release.
10 CDs all housed in an LP style box this is perhaps the rarest of Japanese Maiden CD releases and commands a hefty price on the collectors market. This is a totally unique Japanese release and was manufactured and produced in the land of the Rising Sun. So you not only get the CD sleeve notes in English and Japanese but a very nice booklet, in Japanese, outlining significant dates in Maiden's history - complete with pictures!
This set was released in 1990 at the same time as the UK versions but I don't know if you had to buy them all separately and send away for the box like the UK versions. (I actually got my copy in Virgin Record Stores about 8 years ago.)

The CDs themselves are not picture CDs like the UK First Ten Years CD but while us Brits got a box just big enough to fit the bloody CDs the Japanese get a box that is well designed and shows of the set rather well. When you are looking for a copy make sure it comes complete with the outside strip that accompanies most Japanese releases.

But you want a price don't you? Well this set will set you back in the region of £175/ $250 and there is also a promo box set available which is the exact same as the standard box but has ' sample not for sale ' printed on the inside groove of the CD. The promo version will most probably seet you back well over the £200/ $290 mark.
