Margaret Robertson (Nee Luke) 1905-1989
Margaret was Lorraine's and my Grandmother, on my dad's side of Robertsons this time. The house she used to live in still had the air raid shelter still in the back, and a massive garden with lots of apples and brambley things that we used to pick and eat. Funnily enough I always associate her with Dominoes and cups of tea! (and as Lorraine pointed out- a huge stash of biscuits!). Anyway, she was a lovely person to know and I never heard her say a bad word about anyone, even me when I used to make a fearful row with her piano! We have so many roles and roles of wallpaper that our family tree is written out on (it's one of my grandfather's hobies) and we've all been allotted little groups. It's the only way to keep track of everything as it stands right now. It's not too bad to start off with but when you get to the 1700's you start to struggle a little!

Luke Family The Luke's are my grandmother's family. This picture must have been taken in the 1920s, and as far as I can tell they go thus from left to right: (Extreme left) Mary Elizabeth Brown Luke 1908-1989 (Front left) Euphemia Luke 1915- (Middle left) Euphemia Scarth Luke (nee McInnes) 1878-1947 (Back left) William McInnes Luke 1902-? (Centre Back) Robert Luke 1875-1959 (Back right) George Luke 1899-? (Extreme right) Margaret Bruce McInnes Luke 1905-1989 (Front right) David Luke 1913-c1995
Robert Luke and Euphemia Scarth Luke, my great grand parents, with my grandmother in the background. I'm not terribly sure who the other two are, although it would be likely that the lady on the left is either one of Robert's sisters or one of Euphemia's.
