The Opening Scene(JPC):
When: Will start roughly a year before the intial 'Jellicle Ball' and will continue like that in 'Years'
Where: A fictional junkyard, in downtown Detroit.(Only been there a few times, So I might get a few details wrong. Note: This is a fictional story so deal with it)
Who: Obviously, the Jellicle Cats whose characters are based on the English musical.
The Jellicle Cat:
Well, In The Jemima Parallel Chronicles, they meet once a year, for the jellicle choice, but after my mess with the original Jemima Chronicles I just decided that most, if not all will all live in the junkyard. However I did add celebrations, fesivals, and holidays that the jellicles will celebrate each month. (Moon Festival, Valentines Day, Summer-Winter Solstice, Etc) Now Jellicle cats are normal cats, they look humanoid, of course, but they act and are written as any normal cat. However, I have been treating them as if they were human. If I say she is 4 at a certain chapter, this means she is an older teenager. Even though I treat and write them as humans, the jellicle's are pregnant for only 5 months, before giving birth. Yet, they do not have litters of kittens, usually just one, sometimes twins.(They can have triplets, but it is very rae, and unheard of) The kittens usually will become official teens when they're three years of age(Three jellicle balls). During The Jemima Parallel Chronicles, teenagers will dance at the Jellicle ball when they are entering adulthood meaning 5 years of age, and it is usually all the queens who are turning 'adult'. Now I believe normal cats have a life-span of 20 human years, on average. But jellicles are a extra special, they'll last 25-27 years, if they do not get chosen. Jellicle pairings are supposed to be for life, 'forever', you get the idea, but in some cases a pairing will break there little bond, and go find someone else. (This happens rarely, but it is quite common) There are certain instances where a tom will take more than one queen, or a queen will have two toms. This only works with some of the characters, while others can't handle it. The kittens are usually a blend of their parents. On occasion, a queen might look more like their mother, while a tom will look more like his father, but it doesn't always work that way. And sometimes they'll just be a blend, reguardless of gender. Example: Say the tom is white, and the queen is black, their child would be silver. Alright, sexual activites are done in private, and for the most part public displays of affection is a caress there and a simple kiss. There are of course instances where a tom or a queen will publically display more than that. Usually they'll get scolded, but if they're mates, or known to do that, they only get random looks, but thats it. (AKA Tugger. You know what I'm talking about) Since I have begun to rewrite these chronicles I do not have a lot of things, so if you would be so kind or if you are interested send me a line and get invovled. ^.*

The Junkyard Jellicle's Background:
The New Junkyard Jellicles is actually very different from the poems and musical. It is said that they meet once a year. But after my mess with The Jemima Chronicles, I decided that all of the jellicles stay and live in the yard. (Its a very big yard) There is a couple jellicles that live with humans, Mistoffelees, and Old Deuteronomy. They still all gather in the central yard, "the square", to celebrate the jellicle ball, once a year, when Old Deuteronomy comes to visit. I did get very into and attached to this story, and am starting to like it alot better than the Jemima Chronicles. However, it's still in its early stages, so I am open to any ideas, characters, or help. So new characters based off your own ideas will definately be fit into these chronicles, and it'll be your own character with its own background. These are sectioned into years, and there are twelve chapters in each year. Each chapter is a month apart. Just like the Jemima Chronicles, they are written as normal cats, but are thought upon and treated as humans. Kittens become teenagers after 3 years, and the queens(that are teenagers at the 3 year mark) are asked and expected to dance the courtship dance, all of them. Usually don't have kittens until they are official adults(5 human years, of age). There are pairings, that last till death, but its anciently described that couples travel and become couples in each new body, so basically they are together forever. There are some cases, were a pairing does not work and they break-up, and look for their rightful partners. Then there are the times where a tom will have a second queen, or a queen will have a second tom, only certain ones can do this. At the start there is the quad, which is four jellilces, that are life-time lovers, and life-time mates. There are certain cases in this series, where a tom, or a queen, will have more than two lovers. A queen is pregnant for 9 months, unless they run into problems and have to have it sooner. A kitten is normally a blend of their parents, but queens tend to look more like their mothers, and toms tend to look more like their fathers, except certain cases. Same as above, sexual activities are done in private and only a few displays of affection are tolerated in the open. Such as a nuzzle on the cheek, a small kiss on the lips, paw holding, and a gentle caress on the cheek or neck. These cats are very loving, playful, and supportive of everyone else. Sometimes two toms, or two queens are touchy-feely with one another, however, this does not mean they are lovers, just very friendly. Don't think I'm implying anything. The tribe is mainly heterosexual, but I'm pretty open-minded, and there are instances where there are two females or two males loving each other.
