I'm of the opinion that
tabletops these days
are generally
just too high.
I don't like to sit
down and feel
that I
am the same
stature
as a child -
although that
might just be a
side effect
of being pretty
tall.
However, this
does not
detract
from the fact
that I think
any table which does
not require
at least a modicum
of physical dexterity
to get
the food
from your plate
into your mouth
is just too damn big.
I mean,
have you ever sat
down
in a restaurant and
found the tabletop
halfway up
your chest?
There have been
moments when sitting
down I was
sure my chin
was going to bounce
off the table.
Personally, I don't
like it once
it surpasses
the bottom
of my ribcage.
What can I say?
I like to
slouch.
Maybe because I'm
an elbow-sitter
- who's to say?
There's something
about a less
imposing
table that seems
to make everything feel
more casual
and relaxed;
less... formal,
for those of you
who know
the difference
between
the two.
