Damaged Like That

I am not a man of action
and I am no Casanova
the number of women
I've seduced
pretty much balances out
the number of victories
I've had in battle
and the sum of those
two numbers
is less than I like to admit

much like the humble daffodil
my head is bowed and
my eyes
are fixed upon me
and in this land
where we listen to
other people
tell us how old
they think our mind should be

I am a little
inattentive;

see, I'm just not damaged like that
I don't hurt others
(consciously at least)
and I try to right
my wrongs
I'm damaged in the sense
that I spend most
of my time and
effort
tyring to break
my
self
