I often wonder what has happened to my ability to write
and why the words no longer fall from my fingertips
I thought it might be the change of diet
or perhaps the exotic climate
but the truth is far worse than that
I spend my energies on other diversions
such as watching the woman I loved marry another man
then drinking myself into a stupor
wondering if I have used the correct tense of the verb
Maybe you can tell me how to put that into words
because I
just
don't
know
anymore.
