If I Were Queen
For Madeline
If I were Queen Then I would be to you and them, Her Majesty. Kings would sail across the sea, To bring me gold and strings of beads. They would come from many lands, And walk across the desert sands. All would pledge their loyalty, To their new found royalty. If I were Queen Then bards would sing, They would tell the tale of the beautiful Queen. Her hair was dark her eyes were green, The lovliest Queen they had ever seen. Her reign was long and steady true, She loved her people through and through. And with their help her power grew. If I were Queen Then you would see, There is plenty of food and land for thee. We'll work all day and dance all night, We'll sing until the day is bright. If I were Queen Then you would see, Our kingdom will last for eternity. My army is strong, my army is grand, They have been sent to protect the land. No dragons or monsters, man or beast, Will destroy or end our peace. If I were Queen Then you would know, My castle is strong I am a formidable Foe. My walls are high, and my land is vest. I am strong, I will last. If I were Queen Then you would know, My kingdom will grow and prosper so. We'll grow old together, I'll share my wealth. We'll drink our drinks, and toast our health. We'll be happy together you will see, My subjects, my people, and me. The end.
