Old Deuteronomy- This is pretty straight forward. He does look like Old Deuteronomy, maby not in color, but with the stripes you know. Not too mention, he's the closest thing to Old Deuteronomy, and though he acts like a protector to protect the leader, he also acts like a son to him. Plus many beleive he will be the next leader when Deuteronomy dies. But many beleive his mother to be unknown. I believe in this one.
Old Dueteronomy/Grizabella- This is pretty much for the same reasons as above. Only many beleive that his mother is Grizabella. And it would fit, Grizzie, though she's mainly black, has a bit of silver in her as well. This is a definate possibility, then again with Cats anything can be a possibility. I do tend to agree with this one as well, though I do think his mother could've already traveled to the heavyside layer, or is as above is unknown.
Gus- I'm not sure where I read this theory, but heck, who knows it might have just come from my own brain. I think this theory mainly came from the video. Munkustrap is very affectionate and fond of old Gus, and it can be interpreted as a son reaction to a father. Sure I believe this could be possible, Gus does look a lot like Old Deuteronomy, so appearance wise it works. I don't agree with it, but it sure is a possibility.
Jennyanydots- I read somewhere that a few beleive Jenny to be his mother. Appearance wise, it would work, I mean Jenny has leopard spots(Tugger, hint hint) and Tiger stripes(Munkus hint hint). Also, he seems to be the main singer for her song. Why him, unless he's her son, or has some kind of relation to her.
No I have not come across anymore theories, if you have any more on Munkus or really any of the jellicles email me and tell me about them.
His Profile:
He is usually a Silver Tabby tom, though it could change with each production. (I beleive in one production he was just all Silver) He usually hangs around Old Deuteronomy, but does hang with friends. Usually consisting of Alonzo, Tugger, Plato, and Admetus. There is many speculation about his siblings. ...Many beleive him to be the brother, or half-brother of Tugger and Macavity.....the brother of Alonzo and Tugger.....the brother of Tugger, Macavity, Alonzo, Admetus, and Plato. (Any could be possible) There is also speculation that he has children. Here are those theories...Electra is his daughter-through Demeter(I'd have to disagree, Where's Leccy's rust coming from, Not Deme or Munkus), Jemima is his daughter-through Bombalurina(I can see this, I really can. In fact I beleive this for most productions), Mungojerrie-through Demeter.(I can actually see this too, It explains where Jerrie get's his tabby markings and where he gets his orange and gold fur, from Demeter. So I can totally beleive this in some productions). Etcetera-through Jellylorum(Now this one was a little far-fetched for me, but appearance wise it would fit, at least in the video. I don't agree at all, but like I said, anything is possible.) He has MANY solos starting with the prolouge song. He sings most of the songs, and is onstage almost constantly. Many call him the 'storyteller' or the 'protector'. He helps protect Demeter, Bombalurina, and the rest of the tribe from Macavity. (Alonzo is also up with Munkustrap to protect them and the tribe.) His mate always differs in different productions, but he is indeed one of the main characters of the production.
Demeter- He is paired off with Demeter in many productions, and it shows usually after the Macavity fight when they get a little intimate. The more known production would be in London. I don't really like anyone else with Demeter, except Alonzo.(But as said in Demeter's profile, I am sort of starting to like this pairing, but only a little bit) So this would probaby be my second favorite pairing for Munkustrap.
Bombalurina- He gets paired off and mated with Bombalurina in many productions as well. Which is mainly in the US. Sure, Bomba does flirt with mainly all the toms, but in these said productions, her heart seems to belong to Munkustrap, and his belongs to her. This is by FAR my favorite pairing for him.
Cassandra- Now I'm not sure which tour or production they are actually mates in, but I do know that Cassandra flirts with Munkustrap like mad in A LOT of productions. And I think it's a tour where these two were actually mates. (The picture is from Poland, and I beleive they are mates in that production, though I haven't gotten the chance to see it, so don't take my word for it) Umm...I actually can see these two together. She's sort of high class, he's very protective and loyal. She needs a good tom like him. I don't like them together, but I wouldn't mind reading stories of these two.
Jemima/Sillabub- Now this is just in the Japanese Production, so I've heard. I have seen bits and peices, but I do beleive now that they are mates in that production. This I could never see, since I beleive him to be Jemima's father in 'most' productions(Obviously not all of them). But after seeing bits here and there I can totally see these two together now. Their different personalities compliment each other. I have even read stories of these two as mates and though this pairing is not a favorite, I did like the stories and wouldn't mind reading more of them.
Alonzo- Alright, this tom is up here for a few reasons. Whether they are brother's or not is still speculated, but whatever the case I beleive these two are best friends. (In most stories I read with these two in them, the two barely speak, and that always bothered me for some reason) Anywho back to the reasons, I put this pair up here, mainly because these two are in a triad with Demeter (In my story NJJ), I have read a few 'love' stories invovling the love triangle, I've read 'love' stories with just Munkus and Alonzo, AND I think this picture is just soooo cute!
