Macavity/Demeter- Now I can understand where people think they are Jemima's parents. She does have black stitching like Demeter, and it would explain the red in her coat. But seriously....Macavity is EVIL, Demeter is Paranoid/Skittish...And Jemima is a crazy kitten and just an essence of goodness. Beside's Demeter barely even pays attention to her. I just don't agree at all.
Munkustrap/Bombalurina- Now In the American Production, she is their daughter. And this I can believe.(Even if those two aren't mates, Come on, It's Bombalurina we are talking about. That queen has probably had some kind of relation with every tom, or almost) Anyway, Munk and Bomb both have Black stripes, so that explains the black. Bomb has a white bib, and is mainly scarlett. Duh, plus Jemmie is always near Munk when danger is near. This is a definate possibility, and the one I believe.
Rum Tum Tugger/Bombalurina- Now I guess I can see how people would come up with this conclusion. Appearance wise, it would fit. And even slightly in personality, since Jemima has been seen flirting with different toms in the background, reguardless of her age. But would Tugger really be as sick to flirt that way with his own daughter?? I mean its Tugger, so you never know. But I still don't agree.
Jennyanydots/Skimbleshanks- What the heck?? I see it all the time, "Oh yeah, Jemmie's parents are Jenny and Skimble." Are you mad? She looks nothing, NOTHING, like them. Not even if you blended their colors, NOTHING LIKE THEM!! So they act motherly/fatherly towards her, so does Bomb, Munk, Admetus, and even Cassandra. They're just looking after the kittens, like the rest of the older cats do. That's no reason to start blurtin out stupid things. I HIGHLY DISAGREE WITH THESE TWO!
-There are of course other assumptions/speculations of who her parents are, and that maybe she's a stray whose parents aren't part of the jellicle tribe. But a few other's I've come across were: Tantomile-her mother, Grizabella-her mother, Jelly/Gus, and Bomb/Macavity.
Her Profile:
Jemima is usually a black and Scarlett calico, with a white bib.(But Like I've said, her color could drastically change with any production you go to see. She can also be a gold queen. And I've even seen productions where she is a silver tabby, like Munkustrap.) She hangs around her friends(Which differ in each production), Etcetera, Victoria, Electra, and often Rumpleteazer. People have speculated that she is the sister of Pounce and Tumble,....or the Sister of Victoria and Mistoffelees...or the sister of Electra...and/or she is an only child. But many beleive she is the youngest jellicle in the tribe, either her or Etcetera is. She has a few solos, for being mainly a background cat. Her first is in the Prologue Song. (Now I seriously could tell you EVERY little thing that happens to her in the video, yes, I've watched it that many times. But I won't, just the basics) Skimble and Jenny do protect Jemima when Grizabella's around(As if the old queen was dangerous), but it's Munkustrap who protects her during every Macavity scare. (And I do mean every one, just watch, you know do the slow screen button thing) Anyway, even though she is mainly a background cat, she seems to understand Grizabella better than the "Adults" do. She sings to help the others accept the old queen, and in some production's, she is the first one to touch Grizabella, not Victoria.
Pouncival- She is paired or mated(If you can say that, seeing as how young she is) with Pouncival in many productions. The better known one is Hamburg, Germany. They are both roughly the same age, but for the life of me I just can't see them together..
Tumblebrutus- She can be paired or mated with Tumble as well, though Pounce and Tumble look similar, so it's always hard to tell. She was with him during the mating dance in the video, but It's like Pouncival. I really can't see them together.
MungoJerrie- I'm not sure, but I beleive it was in a London Production, and I know of a few others, where these two get paired together, and they are always Friskay! I think it would be interesting to see them together.
Plato/Admetus- They are usually the same jellicle, just in case you are confused. Now I don't know of any real evidence, but I have seen the two flirt and snuggle in the background of the video and even some productions.
Alonzo- They dance in the video together, and usually Alonzo is seen with her and Viccy after their litte caterwaul scene at the beginning of the jellicle ball.(And it's not just in the video) They are mates in certain productions, Though I don't see it.
Munkustrap- Now this is just in the Japanese Version, so I've heard. I saw bits and parts of it, but I do beleive they are mates in the Japanese Production. I could never see this, seeing as how I feel that he's her father in most productions. But after seeing some of the Japanese Production, I can totally see them together now. Their different personalities compliment each other.
Rum Tum Tugger- In most productions, Tugger seems to have a soft spot for Jemima above all the other's.(Which is obvious in the video as well) You wonder why he favors her above the others, are they secretly mates, does he harbor feelings for her, or does he just think she's the cutest of the kittens. You never know. There is no real evidence, and is mainly in fandom. This is my favorite pairing for Jemima.
Macavity- There are productions where he'll dance his song with the queens and flirt, and where Macavity is a part of the yard and interacts with all the jellicles during the whole thing. Sadly, I haven't seen these productions, so I can't say how he interacts with the others. This is really just a Fandom couple, and is quite large, to my surprise. But I think it works, if you think about it. He's mainly a evil/bad guy, and Jemima is like an essence of good. It'd be natural that they complete each other. I can seem them together, amazingly, and I think they are cute together. This is my second favorite pairing for Jemima.
