He is the Jellicle Leader. Everybody loves him. He's just adored by all the cats. He is very understanding, and is very kind. All in All his personality is very simple. His coat is pretty much the same throughout the world. Consisting of the colors brown black and white/cream white. All these colors are striped and mixed on his fur. Old Deuteronomy is probably one of the most important characters. Without him, sure the Jellicle's would survive. But they need Old Deuteronomy's guidance, wisdom...and well strength.
He is the caretaker of the kittens and has taken it upon himself to look after the other cats. He shows great strength, but I suppose can be immature sometimes. For he does not see Grizabella for what she truly is. His role is pretty important, just like Old Deuteronomy. For the most part, Munkustrap is the same around the world. The grey tabby with black stripes. I think I remember one production where he was just all grey. But other than that he's really easy to spot. Most all of the Kitten's like him, other's just look up to some one else. Munkustrap just like his fanatic brother, Tugger, can become quite the flirt. The Jellicle's need Munkustrap, not just because he protects them, but they also need his love.
"She's actually an old, delapicated cat, really."-Elaine Page/Interview. And she's right, but Grizabella is so much more! Some theroies are Griz is Munk's(and Tugger's) mother. Whelp, She had to have been a tough cookie. She was a curious, yet beautiful cat, who wondered into the complicated world of humans. She had rough times throughout her life on the streets, contacting with humans. And yet she comes back, and back again determined to be reaccepted into a place she once called home. Throughout all the productions she is the same and old, grey cat. Without Grizabella, the Jellicle's would never have recieved the message of Grizabella. The Jellicle's would still have been rambunchous, and fun, yet they would also be hateful.
He's definately the heart throb of the tribe. Many love him and he just loves them. Sure he'll flirt with any queen, but there are a couple he favor's. He still has responsibilities, that he does complete. Most look on him as a cute slacker that's just there to party. Well, Tugger is so much more than that. He's very loyal, yes. He is there for his father(er Old Deuteronomy), and in his hour of need he protects Old Deuteronomy. Even though the Kittens swoon over him, it just indicates that they do look up to him.There's a side of Tugger no one else see's. Tugger is pretty much the same in every production, Black and yellow, with brown spots, and a mane. Except in Japan, He is white instead of Black.
