Old Deuteronomy- There are alot of people out there who beleive that he is a son of Old Deuteronomy, and that his brothers(Or half brothers) are Munustrap, Tugger, Macavity.(And sometimes Admetus and Plato- video only) And I can believe and see how they come up with this. The leader has many children, and all the above toms seem to be very close(With the exception of Macavity, but there's always a fine line between Hate and Love) Alonzo does look more like Munkustrap in US productions...and actually, this is the one I believe. Besides all that, he is described as being in charge when Deuteronomy and Munkustrap are gone.
Jellylorum/Gus Jr.(Er Gus)- There are theories about this. What, you've never heard this theory? Well I have...There are times where Gus(and Gus Jr. for the video) act fatherly towards him. Course, it could be interpreted as a friendly gesture. Anyway, Jellylorum has also shown affection to him. Even appearance wise, the white and black, and even his brown "tabby" costume in the US. But for some reason, I just don't see Jellylorum as being THAT old. Still, it is a possible theory.(Anything is possible)
Jellylorum- For much of the same reasons. Jelly has been seen being affectionate to Alonzo. And sure you could interpret that has flirting, but just the way Alonzo responds seems more of what a son would do. But yeah, They say that Jelly could be his mom, and his father is unknown, died, or went to the heavyside layer.
The only other theory I've come across,(Poor Alonzo. He's a little under appreciated and always in Munk's shadow if you ask me) is that Alonzo was a stray; abandoned.
His Profile:
He is usually a white and black tom(though it differs in each production, and can also be a brown and gold tom, and even a brown tabby tom) He usually hangs around his friends consisting of Munkustrap, Tugger, Plato, Admetus, and Mistoffelees. Of course, there are sibling theories....that Munk, Tugger, Macavity(Plato and Admetus-sometimes) are his brothers....he is the brother of Mistoffelees and Victoria...and/or that he is the only child. He has a few solos, though not that many, even though he is one of the more 'main' characters. However, he still get's main queens attention, and his fair share in the spotlight. In the video, he does not join in Tugger's song, but in many other productions he does. If he is not spending time with his tom friends, you can see him in the background nuzzling or dancing with a queen. (always) He can sometimes double as Rumpus Cat, when Admetus does not exsist. He can sometimes dance the courtship with Victoria, and even in other productions with Demeter. No matter what production you are watching, he will step up to help save Demeter and fight off Macavity. Though he goes down as well as Munkustrap. Whether Munkustrap is Alonzo's brother is really just speculation. But even if they are not, I beleive the two to be really great friends, probably best friends.
Demeter- There are many productions where he and Demeter are mates. It always differ's with each production you watch, but this pairing is mainly in the US. He protects her during the song Macavity, can sometimes be the one to dance the courtship dance with Demeter, he takes her off to safety when Macavtiy arrives, and then steps up to face Macavity after Munkustrap goes down. I'm a hardcore Demeter/Alonzo fan, I love them together. This is obviously my favorite pairing for him.
Cassandra- In the video and a couple of productions, he and Cassandra can be seen dancing with her during the jellicle ball. He also can be seen flirting with her, and even 'mates' with her during the jellicle ball(At least in the video) However, I just really can't see these two together. She seems too 'high class' for a cat like Alonzo. Their personalites clash big time.
Bombalurina- These two are similar to Demeter. There are some productions where Bomb will flirt with him. (Though she flirts with every tom) In these said productions her heart seems to belong to him. And he will protect Demeter from Macavity, but he also protects Bombalurina as well. I don't really like these two together, but I do think it would be an interesting match, and have even read some stories about these two.
Jemima- There are some productions, I beleive mainly in Europe, where these two are mates. He can be seen flirting with her in most productions(Though Alonzo flirts with A LOT of queens). Still I really can't see these two together, even after reading some fanfiction about them.
Electra- As I have said before, Alonzo flirts with MANY queens during many of the productions around the world...and Electra is one of them. I have even seen them flirt in the video, though it is hard to spot. This is mainly a fandom pairing, though I don't agree with it at all. It still would be interesting to see these two together.
Tantomile- Alright, no evidence to this pairing what-so-ever. I beleive that Alonzo does flirt with her in a few productions. (But it's not like I've seen them all, so don't take my word for it) HOWEVER, These two cats seem to be together alot in fanfiction, and there is a big chuck of fans of this pairing. It is an odd pairing to me...but I wouldn't mind reading about them. Since I am a Deme/Lonzo fan to the fullest I don't have a second favorite pair for him. But if I had to choose, then him this would be my second favorite pairing for Alonzo.
Munkustrap- Alright, sorry with the 'slash' pairings again, but I put him up here for a few reasons. Whether they are brother's or not is still speculated, but reguardless I think these two are BEST friends. (And whenever I read stories of these two, they barely talk to each other, and that always bugs me) Anywho, back to the reasons, Well I have put Munkus here, because Munkus and Alonzo are in a traid with Demeter in my story(NJJ), I have read 'love' stories of this love triangle, I have read 'love' stories of just Alonzo and Munkus, and this picture is just SOOOOOOOOO cute!
