Old Deut is the main leader cat who makes the jellicle choice.
Old Deut is the oldest and most respcted of the Jellicles. He is the Jellicles leader. Deut is gentle and kind.
He holds some magical powers, but not much. He alone has the power to call the heavyside layer, which he'll proubly teach and hand over his posistion to Munkustrap when is days are over.
He is also so I've heard father of some of the cats in the tribe. Possiblittys of his children are Munkustrap, as well as Macavity and Rum Tum Tugger.
Deut has something special about him. He saw the real side of the miserable Grizabella and he relizes what she has been throught.
He ends up choosing Grizabella to be reborn and come back to a differnt jellicle life. She now takes her journey up to the Heaviside Layer a place sort of like heaven.
