A Musa Oblectata: A Woman A Mused

To the Poets and to Poesy

Each time your simple words embrace me,
Your matched feet so full outpace me,
The rhyming lines intoxicate me,
I fall again in love anew.

The ancient airs of ages fill my lungs.
I taste the musk of years with nose and tongue,
Which sweet lies, though my aged heart is young,
Refreshing on my lips like desert dew.
