This and That
These, the hulking trees,
The only ones Ive ever seen,
And that, the canopy
A jungle gym of concrete.
And these, the hulking monoliths
Within which gods dwell,
Those ones tower high as well,
A hilltop heaven above my urban hell.
Those creeping cords,
Regular as the hours
This the buzz and hum of power,
Modern melody both sweet and sour.
