With my hands resting under the water

The stream bubbles and the water flows past

Leaves float by, they dance and they flutter

This stream still eluding my grasp

From a dream I wake singing and laughing
Unheard songs still sing sweet and intent
My mind sighs as the memory escapes
I remember a dream but don't know what I dreamts

And my hands clench, but come up with no water
My mind stretches but still finds no dream
I try again to catch what I've lost
The truth that I know but I never have seen

Unknown tears lie fresh-fall'n on my shoulder
Dream and stream met while I lay asleep
Though unbidden, my mind waxes older
There's something I've lost that I wanted to keep

And my hands clench, but come up with no water
My mind stretches and still finds no dream
I try again to catch what I've lost
The truth that I know but never have seen

Like the nights when I dream the same dream
Like the stream that flows on without end
I still don't understand what it means but at
Least I know, I know that I'll see it again
