Motivation

Stability, this fundamental notion was and remains a key pillar in all sciences and most, if not all, of human endeavors. With the pervasiveness of systems of all kinds, and their ever-increasing complexity, we remain tributary to this systemic property making our research a never-ending quest.

Though stability is a necessary first step for any control theory, it is of major interest to many other fields of science such as Physics, Biology, Economics, Manufacturing, just to name a few. The purpose of this invited session is to offer a chance for scientists and technicians, dwelling in different and diverse fields of research beyond control sciences, to share their experiences.

The hoped for synergism that will emerge during this session will most likely benefit most participants by proposing new research directions for the theoretically slanted ones, and possible solutions for those rustling with complex systems.

Should you be interested in this project, please send your e-abstract (about 500 words) to [email protected]. We should receive your abstract no later than the 15th of August 2000. The final papers are due the 15th of October 2000.
