Captions for English Grammar

With the editing project I changed only simple things because all in all it was well written. Where the period was placed after a quote needed to be changed; they are supposed to be placed after everything, the quotation marks and page number in parentheses, but they had been put before the page number. I also had to change some consistency factors. There were either one or two spaces between sentences, so I changed them all to one space. There was also a question or two about capitalizing the word "peoples" after Native. I changed it to Native Americans instead of peoples because Americans had been used earlier in the work. The word peoples can be ambiguous because it can refer to any group of Native people, but Native American is understood as Indians native to the US. I also changed where she had put some commas; they seemed to have been put anywhere. A comma does not need to be used because there would be a pause if the material were being read. She used a lot of commas in that way. Commas also need to be are every word is a series and then before the and with the last word; she used none so it was confusing.

For my Grammar Guide on the grammatical element of linking verbs. I started with the basic definition and exploration, and moved to the rhetorical, literary, and historical factors involving my concept. I thought it was important to include as much information as possible so as not to confuse readers. I included the formulas to incorporate linking verbs and a chart for reference purposes. I found research from several sources to make sure the information I used was accurate and creditable.
I wanted to make sure the exercises were easy to do and to understand, so I made sure nothing would be confusing. I also made sure to put a variety of web pages on the page so anyone looking at my page could go to other sources for further information, or if they wanted to look for related topics. I ended up putting the historical, literary, and rhetorical part first because I thought the readers should know where I had come and where I was going with the concept.
