| ~ Chapter Nine ~ |
| When they arrived home, Ryann got out of the car and started staggering toward the house. She almost fell down, but Jeff caught her and helped her inside. Jeff walked Ryann to her room and sat her on the bed. He told her hed be right back, and he went to the kitchen for a drink. Ryann took her shorts off and got under the covers. Jeff came back in with a beer for himself and one for Ryann. Here Ryann, he said as he handed her a Michelob Light. I didnt know what you would want, so I got you a beer. Jeff sat down on the bed. Thanks. Ryann replied and took a sip of her beer. So are you going to bed? Jeff asked. No, but Im going to lay in here and watch TV. Ok, Ill just go to my room then. Jeff said, as he stood up form the bed. No. Ryann said sternly. Then her voice turned really sweet and innocent. I want you to watch TV in here with me. Jeff looked down at her and their eyes met, once again. Ok, just let me go change clothes. Hurry up Jeff. Ryann said. Jeff went to his room and changed into shorts. Behave yourself Jeff, shes drunk. She doesnt know what she wants. Shes just had too much to drink. The thoughts wandered through Jeffs head as he walked back down the hall to Ryanns room. When he reached the door, Ryann was clicking through the channels. Find anything good on the tube? Jeff said. He walked over to the other side of the queen bed and sat next to Ryann. Its 4 oclock in the morning, what do you think? Ryann replied. Want me to put in a movie? Jeff asked. Sure, put in The Patriot. I like that movie. Jeff rose from the bed and put the DVD in. He walked back over to the bed and sat with his back against the pillows and his feet straight out. Ryann was just about to push play when Jeff grabbed the remote from her hand. Now why did you do that? Ryann asked as she turned and looked at him. Because I felt like it. Jeff said, and gave her a wink. Well give it back. And what if I dont? You remember what happened this morning, dont you? Ryann asked. Of course I do, but there is no way you can get the better of me twice. Jeff said. Ryann went to grab the remote, but Jeff put it in his other hand and held it as far away form her as he could. She lifted one of her legs and threw it over Jeffs torso, and sat on him. She grabbed a hold of his wrists and pinned him. He wasnt trying to fight her at all. Jeff and Ryann were face to face, and she said, Give it to me, or Ill Ill Youll what? Jeff interrupted. Ryann looked into Jeffs eyes, and that feeling of longing came over her. She wanted to have him, just like she did that morning. But this time, the alcohol in her body was giving her the courage not to back down. What are you going to do Ryann? Jeff asked. Then he flipped her over and sat on her, pinning her in the same manner she had just pinned him. She looked into his green eyes again, and she picked her head up and pressed her lips against his. Jeff closed his eyes, and kissed her back, and let go of her hands. She cupped his face with her hands, and pulled him down onto her. She wanted him so badly. Jeff wanted Ryann too, but his better judgment got the best of him so he pulled away from her, and lay down next to her. Ryann, we cant do this. Yes, we can Jeff. Ryann said matter-of-factly. No, we cant. Its not that I dont want to, BELIEVE ME. But, I know that youve had a lot to drink tonight, and I dont want you to do something youll regret in the morning. Jeff got up to leave, but Ryann stopped him. Will you at least hold me until I fall asleep? That, Jeff replied. Is something I can do. Jeff lay down on the bed and pulled Ryann into his arms. She rested her head against his chest, and could hear the beating of his heart. Nothing like getting turned down Ryann thought. She closed her eyes and was asleep within minutes. Jeff was looking at Ryann, watching her sleep. He thought to himself how badly he wanted her. And this could have been his only chance. No, I did the right thing. He kept repeating those words over in his head, assuring himself. Finally, after trying to fight it, his eyelids grew heavy and closed for the night. |
