A controversial concert because it was a benefit show for a convicted cop-killer. I don't particularly care for the band's politics but I like their music.
[Live - lost the ticket] The venue for this show was the legendary Stone Pony in Asbury Park, NJ. It was an intimate club show for 400 people to preview the band's new songs, some of which weren't released until a few years later.
I got floor tickets and got up to the second row, five feet from the stage! A really great show, as the audience was really into it and singing along to just about all the songs.
My friends and I would go see Live every summer for 4 years straight or so. Unfortunately, this was the only stub I managed to keep. They put on a great live show, as their name implies.
This show was supposed to be on July 12, but the keyboardist overdosed the night before the concert, pushing the date back to Sept 17. Our seats weren't great, but the show was.
This was the first ever concert at the newly opened Corestates center, now known as the Wachovia center. A pretty good concert, but Oasis promptly canceled the rest of their tour a few days after this show. |
