The ballots are in. Thanks to the 11 of you who voted. National League Most Valuable Player 1. Dave Justice -- Oregon 2. Tony Clark -- Charleston 3. Pedro Martinez -- Windsor Justice narrowly beat out Clark, who tied Justice for the league lead in HR (28 -- man, gotta get out of that neutral era!). Justice lead the league in OB% and Slg%. Cy Young award 1. Pedro Martinez -- Windsor 2. Rick Reed -- Norwood 3. Brad Radke -- St. Petersburg PJ was the league's only 20-game winner. He finished second in the league in ERA (to Reed), lead the league in complete games, and was second in the league in strikeouts per 9 IP. Fireman of the Year: 1. Trevor Hoffman -- Chicago 2. Roberto Hernandez -- Quincy 3. Jeff Montgomery -- Charleston Get used to Trevor winning this category. It'll likely happen next year. While only finishing fourth in total saves, Hoffman converted an amazing 92% of his save opportunities. American League Most Valuable Player 1. Jeff Bagwell -- Denver 2. Frank Thomas -- Missouri 3. Ken Griffey, Jr. -- Kentucky Bagwell plugged away in the thin, mile-high air and finished 10th in batting average, fourth in on base average, and second in slugging average. He was also first in RBI and third in Homeruns. Terrific all around season for Jeff. Frank Thomas, who led the league in batting average, on-base average, and slugging average, could not be reached for comment. However, his agent said that Thomas vows to ruturn next year seemingly unable to hit left handed pitching, in order to make us all yearn for the good old days and appreciate him more. Cy Young Award 1. Greg Maddux -- Missouri 2. Darrell Kile -- Boston 3. Andy Benes -- Seattle Check this out: 23-5. 1.52 ERA. 'Nuff said. Fireman of the Year: 1. Doug Jones -- Denver 2. Jeff Shaw -- Missouri 3. Dennis Eckersley -- Boston Jones had a great year. He easily led the league in saves, and had a microscopic ERA of 2.26 even though his home park is Coors Field. Owner / GM of the Year: Rob Culver, Windsor Chiefs Rob beat out a couple of sentimental favorites -- thanks to all who voted for me ;) The Windsor Chiefs compiled the best record in either league, winning 102 games, and were easily the first team to clinch a playoff spot. Thanks again folks. Great year!
