As the quantum surge hit Scorponok and began Transmetalysis of his body he was knocked into the lava pit of the Predacons' base. Scorponok's spark went offline but the Transmetal body resisted the heat of the lava until Megatron recovered it. When the Predacons captured a stasis pod with a viable spark, but damaged support systems Megatron knew what to do. Now equipped with a Transmetal body Scorponok is more dangerous than ever. His scorpion tail conceals a long range misslelauncher. For close range firepower, a triple rocket launcher and rapid-fire gatling gun are mounted in-line with the scorpion's eyes. Maximals must also beware of hand-to-hand combat with thiswarrior and his crushing claws. Functioning under the programming of Scorponok's processor this new spark feels that it's not living it's own life. He still acts extremely loyal to Megatron, but feels compassion and interest in the Maximal cause. Megatron realizes the Maximal tendencies and increased intelligence of this new Scorponok and remains wary of fully entrusting his old second-in-command.
