| Got My '72 Maverick july '04....work on it as time and money allow ( I don't work on it that much!) Been hanging around so long I call it "the immovable object" It's an origanal 6 banger low line mav, grabber blue, no options super solid for an east coast car.... plans call for a 9" (allready done!! will post pics and how I did it on the cheap) granada front disc brakes.master and prop (in process) 17" wheels w/ the biggest tires I can fit without major cutting/tubbing 302 or 351 my choice....have 'em stacked like cord wood!! c4 or aod (c4 is done...street strip 3500 stall...just not sure..might put in Torino) project is moving along...will post some more pics and stuff soon Torionjh |

| Install was pretty much a no brainer on this '72. I have done this swap on many other fords from the early '60's . Have run into steering linkage and steering stop issues on most. The '72 Mav had non of these problems. Used spindle assys. from '78 Granada V8 with 11" rotors. Absolute bolt on... Tierods everything! Only mod in fender wells was straighting and reflareing brake line. |

| Master cylinder and prop valve were just about as easy, Used a reman cylinder for a '77 granada with MANUAL disc brakes... is a bolt on pushrod and brakelight switch operate as original Prop valve needed to be rotated 180 degrees and a simple braket fabricated (will post pic when engine compart. is disassembled for paint).Also I have posted a diagram for routing brakelines to prop valve. This diagram is off the valve removed from the '78 Granada. |
