Railway Tunnel
This tunnel was built by Great Western Railway, known in it's time as "the stone canal"
James Walker was the sub contractor for the 13,000,000 project which included another culvert to the East of the Thorold Tunnel
Age of the site:
1875 Tunnel construction began and was ready for use in 1878
1881 the first train steamed through the tunnel
1882 The 3rd Welland Canal became operational
1915 the tunnel was abandoned and the tracks removed

History of the site (tragedies,deaths)
There was a train wreck at the West end of the tunnel, 2 trains collided, I have recently found some new possible dates of the wreck, which now makes 4 and currently working with a local historian to find the proper information

Fall 1997 a sub-floor was put in and supports were installed inside the tunnel to help support the ceiling

I have read reports of other groups involved in ouija and seances in the tunnel and the results were very negative

Many paranormal groups have investigated this location with mixed reported results

Have there been any unexplainable sounds (banging, footsteps)
Footsteps have been reported
On my first visit I recall a banging sound about 3/4 into the tunnel and I have reported it to be of natural causes
Have there been any voices heard (whispering, crying, children)
Wispers have been reported, also one time visiting the tunnel with Chad and Don I experienced a whisper in my ear clearly, at the time the tunnel was silent Chad did not hear the phonomena but Don who was to my Far left heard it clearly.

Temperatures in this location would be difficult to get an good reading as the wind blows through the tunnel, also it gets colder the further in you go
Have there been any problems with the plumbing (leaks, flooding, sinks)
The roof of the tunnel leaks as you get under the canal NOTE; many sounds could be caused by this natural sound

temperature readings and evps will be very difficult at this location
A: being outside re temperature fluctuation and drafts in the tunnel
B: evp's in the tunnel will be had to judge properly due to the echo of the tunnel, caution must be used
