-The original house built in the early 1790's as a log home
-1976 the log house was replaced by a frame house, 1 1/2 story
-June 5 1813 the Gage home was forced to be a headquarters of the American troops, when the British became victorius the Gage Family were able to return to a normal life.
How Many previous owners:
1970's-1935 was owned by the Gage family
1899 A grandaughter od james and Marcy, Sarah Calder saved the house from being torn down, she purchased it and 4 1/2 acres.
It was later transfered to the Womans Wentworth Historical Society for $1900.00
-1962 The society was unable to keep up the house and grounds therefore the Niagara Parks Commission took possesion.
-1970's The home was restored to the 1935's
-1988 The City Of Stoney Creek took over the home and property
-June 6 1913 unveiling of the 124 foot monument took place by Queen Mary who was in London. This was acomplished by an electric signal from a transatlantic cable.
