Taxi was a show that will forever be missed by fans around the world. It was one of the funniest sitcoms ever. The show was such a great mix of a very 70s feel, a cute set, a great cast and of course Andy Kaufman. Andy made the show something special. This show was truly comedy and TV at its best! |

| For more than one reasons Andy didnt like working on taxi. Andy felt that if he did his foreign man character as Latke Gravas he would lose that character and it would forever become Latke instead. It was also time consuming, which meant he had to forego any other appearances, or performances that would take up too much time. According to the kaufman home page Judd Hirsch, Tony Danza and Jeff Conaway didnt like Andy in fact they hated him. According to Judd Hirsch, Tont Danza and Jeff Conaway they didnt HATE Andy but they didnt get along with him tremendously. There WAS tension on the set between Andy and other cast members but at the end of the day its all very over now. |
|
| Andy character on the show was latke a lovable goofy mechanic who allways had something weird to say. He also had his own alter ego Vic Ferrari. After studing the swingers lifestyle latke underwent a personality change so dramatic he would become Vic a swinging suave womaniser who spoke without a hint of an accent. Towards the end Latke settles down with his wife Simka Dahlblitz Gravas. |
