To every kid growing up in the late 80's/early 90's the funniest thing on TV was "You Can't Do That On Television", A sketch comedy show originated in Canada, and eventually imported to the U.S. on the Nickelodeon network. Who can forget the hapless kids being slimed upon uttering the dreaded words "I don't know", or having a bucket of water dumped on their head after saing the word "water". Everyone had their favorite cast member or episode, and this page is devoted to the best of them. |

Les Lye as: EVERY adult male on the show! |

The best character the show had was Ross Ewage (that name's still a cool pun). Ross was the stage director for "You Can't", and was this greedy guy who always made the kids' lives hell. |

| Pictured is one of my favorite gags that Ross ever did. "You Can't" always had a segment called "The Opposite Sketches", and during this part of the show, the cast was overcome by some unseen force and acted completely opposite of the way they normally would. The picture is of Ross being kind-hearted and giving his money away in a Santa Claus costume. |

Other characters included Snake Eyes: the crazed bus driver who always drove his buss through walls and off bridges... |
Lance, The Father: In every sketch, the father was this fat, unshaven slob guy. His job? Well, naturally he was a U.S. Senator... |

The Doctor: A bad Groucho Marx impression, and a doctor's office adds up to... hilarity! |
Coach: Somehow this one High School Coach managed to coach every school sport at whatever high school this took place in. And he never had one of his teams win a game! |
Christine: Remember "Moose"? Christine was the show's longest running host, and was pretty much the main character for most of the show's run. |
Lisa: Who could forget ol' motormouth Lisa Ruddy? She was Christine's arch-enemy, and was always trying to upstage her. |

Kevin: Kevin Kubusheskie was one of my favorite characters. There was this episode where he had his name legally changed to the much more memorable Kevin ilranivitch Rasputin Kubusheskie. Then he went and blew $100 bucks in quarters in a video game so that he could have his new name be the top score, but he MISSPELLED IT! |
