Everyone at some point in their lives makes a great religious pilgrimage. Those that follow Islam must make the pilgrimage to Mecca once in their lives. Those who are Mormon must travel to Salt Lake City every five years to feast upon the hearts of children. Nerds must travel to Best Buy twice a year to get the new Lord of The Rings DVD in the regular version, and a few months later in the extended format. Scientologists must board the astroship "Avenger" and... well, you get the point. And just like them, I made my great journey... to visit the dinosaurs from Pee Wee's Big Adventure. They weren't the vibrant colors they were in the film, because they had colored lights on them during filming. But it was still them. With my own eyes, I saw the walkway Pee Wee and Simone used to enter the T-Rex. I stood upon the same soil Andy chased Pee Wee with a giant bone on. I even visited the restaurant Pee Wee was brought to by the ghost of Large Marge. In short... it was glorious. |
