Soprano Susan Vaules
Lin left the National Geographic Society three years ago to pursue the dual
careers of musician and mother, and now enjoys entertaining audiences large
and small. She has made solo appearances in Paris, Oxford, and other venues
in Europe. In the Washington area she has been featured at the Kennedy
Center, the National Cathedral, and numerous other concert stages. She has
sung as a soloist under the batons of Maestros J. Reilly Lewis, Robert
Shafer, Donald McCullough, and Leonard Slatkin. The Washington Post has
praised her “molten agility” and “joyous conviction.” Ms. Lin’s credits
include Fauré’s Requiem, Handel’s Messiah, Haydn’s Lord
Nelson Mass, Bernstein’s Chichester Psalms, Britten’s A
Ceremony of Carols and Rejoice in the Lamb, Brahms’ Ein Deutsches
Requiem, and the role of Fiametta in the Washington Savoyards' production
of The Gondoliers. Her solo performances with The Washington Chorus
have been recorded on their album Sing Noel!, and broadcast live on
WETA-FM. A frequent soloist with the Washington Bach Consort, Ms. Lin has
been featured in their performances of several Bach cantatas, most recently
cantatas 23, and 13, and 167. Ms. Lin also performs in the Consort’s Bach to
School stage shows. |
