In the search of lighter weight some people have taken to removing the tar from the floor of the hatch. The tar that I am refering to can be viewed by pulling up the carpet in the hatch and removing the mat. The tar is painted the chasis colour but is rippled. I removed this tar, collected it in a bag and weighed it. Total weight is 5lbs. I highly recommend that you do not bother to remove the tar. It is quiet frustrating and achieves virtually nothing. If you are one of the two people who is creating a purpose built FC race car I recommend removing the tar on a hot day with a mallet and chisel (or screwdriver). |
