| Trading and Free Agent Acquisitions | |||||||
| ALL RECENT UPDATES ARE HIGHLIGHTED IN BLUE Acquiring a Free Agent: At the end of the draft, all the undrafted players will become free agents. Any team may acquire these free agents at any time. There will be a $2 acquisition fee for each free agent acquired. Note that each coach's roster can never exceed 17 player\team defenses, so when a free agent is acquired, that coach will have to drop one player from their roster. Free agent acquisitions will be first come, first serve. All free agent acquisition fees are added to the pot. In the event that a player is drafted by a coach and released to free agency during the season, and is then re-signed through free agent acquisition later in the season by any coach, that player will not be eligible to be kept as a late round hold over, unless he was originally drafted after the 9th round. Trading: Coaches will also be allowed to trade between themselves. This will also cost $2 for each roster spot that is altered. ie. coach A trades Eli Manning to coach B for Larry Johnson, then each coach would pay $2. Any trades that involve future years draft picks will require all coaches involved to pay the entry fee for the year involved. i.e. if coach A trades Payton Manning to coach B for coach B's 2010 second round pick, then both coach A and B would have to pay $25 for the 2010 season entry fee. This is to insure that any trades made involving draft picks will be honored. When trading draft picks, keep in mind that only 17 players\team defenses may be on a coach's roster at any time. If you were to trade for three (3) draft picks, then you would be replacing your 15th, 16th and 17th round picks with the picks you received in the trade. Restrictions on Starting Traded Players: All players traded between coaches will have to be on the new coaches rosters for at least 24 hours before they can be submitted on a starters list (see Starters Details). This is to avoid problems with starting players involved in a Trade Dispute. See "Disputed Trades" at bottom of page for more details. All trade fees collected are added to the pot. Unlimited Trades and Roster Moves: For a $10 fee, each coach would have the ability to make an unlimited number of roster moves or trades. This offer will be available as early as the day after the Fantasy Bowl, and will remain in effect until the trade deadline of the next season (see below). Trade and Free Agent Acquisition Deadline: There will be a trade and free agent acquisition deadline, which will be at the starters deadline for week 12 (10 PM Saturday). No trades or free agent acquisitions may be made from this point until the day after the FantasyBowl. After the FantasyBowl, TRADING will resume. Free agent acquisitions will be suspended until after OUR draft the following season. All post-season trades will require all coaches involved to pay the next year's entry fee early. All post-season trade fees collected will be put into the following seasons pot. How to Trade or Acquire a Free Agent: E-mail the Commissioner at: [email protected]. If it is a trade, both coaches have to send an email saying that the trade is valid. For free agent acquisitions, put in the email, who is being acquired and who is being dropped to make room for them. All free agent acquisitions will be first come, first served. The email date stamps will determine order of acquisition attempts. Disputed Trades: In the event that a trade is made between two coaches that any other coach in the league feels is not a balanced trade, that coach will have the option of emailing the Commissioner to dispute the trade. A coach wishing to dispute a trade will have 24 hours from the time that the trade notification is emailed to all coaches, to respond with their dispute. In the disputer's correspondence, be specific as to why you feel the trade is not balanced. If no reasons are submitted with a disputed trade email, it will be dismissed immediately. The disputing coach will remain anonymous to all except the Commissioner. If one of the coaches involved in the trade is the Commissioner, an email may be sent to Tim at [email protected] and he will act as the Commissioner in this instance. The Commissioner will inform the league that a trade has been disputed and list the reasons given by the disputing coach. From that time, every coach will have 24 hours to consider the dispute and make a decision weather or not to accept the trade. Each coach will need to send an email to the commissioner with a yes or no response to the disputed trade. After 24 hours all the responding coach's emails will be tallied and a ruling will be made. When a trade is disputed all players involved in the trade will remain on the rosters of their original "owner" until a ruling has been made. That is the reason for players being traded between coaches having to be on the new coaches' rosters for 24 hours before they can be placed in a starting lineup. So, plan ahead when making trades. |
