Hot off the press!

The Jefferson Pipe Band has undergone a few exciting changes since the last update of this site.

Two Bands in One! -- This is the biggest bit of news. A number of pipers and drumers from the Ashland/Medford area of Southern Oregon have joined the Jefferson Pipe Band to make one large band. Since there is a large distance between the two divisions (the Ashland/Medford area group and the Redding area group) we will act as two seperate bands at times but come together for certain events, practices and eventually competition.

Small Change of Leadership -- When the two divisions are performing separately then Bob Skinner will be the acting Pipe Major of the "Southern Contingent" (Redding area) and Rob Jeffs will be the acting Pipe Major of the "Northern Contingent" (Ashland/Medford area). However, when the band comes together to perform or practice, Rob Jeffs will be the acting Pipe Major and Bob Skinner the acting Pipe Sergeant.

New Kilts! -- The Jefferson Pipe Band now has matching kilts! We are wearing the beautiful Lindsay Modern tartan (below is a small sample). After many years of everyone having their own tartan (and looking like a marching quilt) this is a great improvement.
