| This photo shows Scott's amazing new charger that he has been using to charge the Lithium-Ion battery of his HandEra 330. This unusual charger gets its recharging electricity from solar cells! Scott bought it for $40 from http://aurorasolar.com. They have several models, each with different PDA-plug connectors, for different types of PDAs, including Pocket PCs (Jornadas, Ipaqs and Casios), Palm OS machines (m-series models, Visor models, Sony Clies, and others), as well as cell phones. This model shown in these two photos is model SC101A. |
| This photo shows how the charger looks when opened, facing the sun, and plugged into Scott's HandEra 330. It is recharging the battery of the 330. The charger connects to the 330 with a three foot long electrical cord. Scott says the three foot length is useful for the purpose of making sure the charger is in the sunlight and the HandEra isn't. Scott has experienced difficulty sometimes when trying to close up the charger (when he isn't going to use it), because the cord must be wound up in a way that is flat enough to fit inside the case when it is fully closed. As I confirmed for myself, making the cord sufficiently flat can be tricky. |
