| Two distributors I now own |

| The one on the right is one that was in my 1988 Honda Civic wagon when I bought the car from a University professor five years ago. I've removed the covers of both distributors so that the ignitor component can be easily seen. The ignitor of the right one is the light-grey colored square-shaped part (with the wires plugged into its rightmost side, and an empty screw hole at its lower left corner) in the middle of this view of this distributor. As this ignitor is shown here, around a fifth of its total length is shielded from view because it isn't completely pulled-out. To pull it out completely seems to require detacting the four wires. The ignitor can also be clearly seen on the distributor on the left. That distributor is one I obtained about three months ago from a dump located around 10 miles from my residence. That distributor works fine, but the one on the right, if installed in my car, will cause the car to not be able to start. The two screws next to the yellow screw-driver handle are screws that hold the ignitor securely to the distributor. The three large screws are (all standing on-end) are for securely attaching the distributor to the engine (at a location close to the spark plugs). |
