On the left's theory that misspeaking is a searing guage of intelligence, Gore was an imbecile.  "Subliminable," for example, is a lot closer to "sub-
liminal" than "was the inspiration for Love Story" is to "knew the guy who wrote Love Story."  Bush may stumble over his words on occasion, as does every human.  At least he never claimed he fought at the Alamo.

Six Ways Coulter's words deceive readers and
      hide the deceptions from them:
This is what Coulter says on p  145 of Slander about what Gore has said about him having been an inspiration to the Erich Segal (the author of the famous novel Love Story) when that author created the male leading character of the novel:
Coulter then repeated her ridicule of Gore about his Love Story claim on pages 154, 159, and 160.  What is the truth?  This claim of Gore's is trivially easy to investigate, for anyone capable of using computerized keyword-searches and the LexisNexis document-retrieval software.  In Slander, Coulter repeatedly claims to have used such keyword searches to when searching for evidence favoring or disfavoring claims in her book.
Merely by giving that software the command to search all newspapers of Tennessee, for all available dates, for all articles containing "Gore" AND "Segal" AND "Love", I was able to find an article by a reporter who investigated this claim of Gore's.  The article quotes Segal as saying that he based the male character of
Love Story on two real-life persons: Al Gore and the roommate Gore had, a man named "Tommy Lee Jones"
